vScription VR Getting Started

Preferences

Record Key – Set this value to the key you want to use to start recording. Note this doesn’t apply if you are using the Wireless Microphone. You may need to change it if the default setting (F2) conflicts with another function.

Shortcut Popup Key – Set this value to the key you want to use to open the shortcut popup menu. Note this doesn’t apply if you are using the Wireless Microphone. You may need to change it if the default setting (F4) conflicts with another function.

Microphone Whitelist URL – You must add the website URL for sites you are going to be using vScription VR with. The reason for this is to minimize chrome resources by only loading the extension on tabs or windows that have the website(s) listed in the Microphone Whitelist URL. Enter each URL separated by a new line. Note: The sites MUST be secure (using https://) or Chrome will not grant access to the local microphone.

Tenant ID – You must enter a valid tenant ID in order to use vScription VR. You will have been provided this with your login information. If you login to the extension as an administrative user this will automatically populate but if you are not,  you will need to manually enter it. Note that if you are an admin, you can retrieve your tenant ID at the following URL – https://vscription.vtexvsi.com/vscription-vr-tenant-id-retrieval/.
contact us at support@vtexvsi.com to get the site password.

Enable Compatibility Mode – Use compatibility mode if you are unable to dictate directly into fields on the webpage. Some websites use older technologies such as iFrames and it is not possible to capture those elements within Chrome to automatically populate the text into those fields. Please see the Using Compatibility Mode section for more information on using compatibility mode.

Fast Dictation – Leave this checked to use the Websockets transfer mode (Recommended). Only disable this if you are having issues connecting through your firewall or if it is recommended by support.

Note: When enabling the Wireless Microphone mode, Fast Dictation gets disabled by default and can be re-enabled if switching back to a wired mic.

Enable Wireless Microphone – Check this to enable the iPhone Wireless Microphone. See the Wireless Microphone section for additional details.

Client Name – This is where you will be able to view and change the workstation name that you will connect to with your wireless microphone.

Support Centre – Takes you to the vScription Support Centre
